Chinese New Year celebrations at Forest School

 

We linked our Chinese New Year learning to our outside Forest School experience this week. The children set off looking for the zodiac animals hidden in the forest. They then placed them in the order that the animals finished The Great Zodiac Race. We then all found sticks and when ‘Nian’ appeared (AKA Mrs McCormac) the children just loved making lots of noise by hitting the trees with their sticks and shouting to scare Nian away. Afterwards, the children enjoyed a fortune cookie which was kindly brought in by Punn’s Mum. Xie Xie Angkhana.
