Keeping Our Britain Tidy - Helping Our Community KS1

Beech News

This week, we continued our work on becoming good stewards of our planet; we went litter picking. Mrs Stanborough organised some professional litter picking equipment to be delivered by the local council, which ensured the job was easier and kept the children safe, even though she was unable to be with us.

On Thursday, we were all very excited to have a visit from local author, Alison Simpson. She read her latest book to us - ‘Bodhi the Pirate Dog and the Great Pile of Litter,’ which perfectly illustrated the value of our litter picking exercise earlier in the week. The children participated beautifully in Alison’s lesson and demonstrated their growing knowledge of the various ways in which we can protect our environment.

Unfortunately, due to the rain, Alison could not put her books on display. However, if anyone would like to purchase a book you can order them from Alison’s website: https://bodhithepiratedog.com/
