πŸŒΏ Newbold School Teams Up with Reading University for Nature-Based Learning! 🐞

We’re thrilled to announce an exciting new initiative for our students! Newbold School is now linking up with Reading University through the University of Reading Nature Park Project, led by Kirsty Shakespeare, Engagement Project Manager for Climate and Environmental Sustainability.

This innovative project aims to break down barriers to environmental and outdoor education, offering schools the opportunity to engage directly with the university campus for hands-on, nature-based learning.

Exploring Biodiversity and Sustainability

Through this initiative, our students will be able to:

  • Investigate biodiversity, sustainability, and climate in a real-world setting

  • Apply their findings to enhance our school environment

  • Develop a deeper understanding of how their actions can make a difference

Using the University’s Green Space

Reading University’s campus is a treasure trove of biodiversity, with over 2,000 species of plants, animals, and fungi! Our students will gain unique access to new habitats and areas of high biodiversity, giving them invaluable opportunities to observe and learn in ways that aren’t possible within the school grounds alone.

We’re so excited about the potential of this collaboration to inspire curiosity, creativity, and environmental stewardship among our pupils. Watch this space as we embark on this green adventure together! 🌱✨
