Young Scientists Test Soil for New Saplings! π±
Exciting things are happening at Newbold School! Newbold School has some new saplings ready to plant on the school grounds π³but first, we needed to figure out the best spots for them to grow. That’s where Year 3 and 4 came in! π©π¬π¨π¬
Our young scientists got hands-on with soil testing π§ͺ They explored different areas around the school, using their fingers to feel the texture of the soil ✋ They also mixed soil with water π§ to see if it would form a solid mass or crumble apart — an important clue about the type of soil and where the saplings would thrive.
These new saplings will do more than beautify the school grounds πΏthey will create a home for nature π¦π¦ and help reduce air and noise pollution from the busy Popeswood Road ππ¨.
Despite the muddy mess, the children kept their testing stations neat and tidy π§Ή They carefully transported soil and water, making sure everyone stayed safe ✅. It was fantastic to see their teamwork, curiosity, and careful scientific approach in action.
Well done to all the Year 3 and 4 students—super scientific work that will help the new saplings grow big and strong πͺπ± while benefiting the environment! π
